makes me miss track practice, and meets. Wasting time at practice doing starts in the block, or trains at the end of practice. And being in shape without realizing how hard it would be to maintain when I didn't have Mr. Schulte barking at me to 'Keep Going'.

New Record!
I'm still checking the updates on my friend Liz's progress in the marathon , but the Elite runners have been done for hours!
A new record was set for the Boston Marathon - Men's Elite race.
A new record was set for the Boston Marathon - Men's Elite race.
Over it.
A few random things I could have done without this weekend:
- My roommate taking my computer plug and giving it to her bf because she thought he left it there. Realizing this Saturday night, then, waiting til late Sunday afternoon to get it back.
- Going down to the basement, and getting locked out of the house by my other roommate who didn't realize I was down there. Then, having to stand at the back door and wait for her to get out of the shower so she could let me in.
- Finding a box of sopping wet CD's and having to dry them off.
- Going to get my bike at the old apt, and realizing that the seat is waaay too high so someone must have ridden it, and that the back tire is so flat it is hanging off the rim. Not ideal.
- Waking up at 12:30 and seeing candles still lit in the living room - on the bookcase and on some wall hanging candle thing we have, and noticing my roommate who lit them all has gone to bed
- Missing Sv on a rainy afternoon where we could have taken advantage of the beer wheel at Red Bones (*NOT missing painting w/ him in CT! Sorry bud.)
I lucked out with the random roommates I have, but a studio apt in Quincy is looking more enticing.

weekend
This weekend was rainy, cold and pretty low key. Friday night I met my friend Dave for dinner and wine. Saturday - cleaning, errands, all the fun stuff. That night, I was not inspired to go out at all. I rented 2 movies - An Education and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. I made a delicious dinner of cereal and strawberries. (After a late lunch of chicken tacos.) It was actually nice to have the house to myself and lay on the couch. (Norah is in FL and Johanna was at her boyfriend's house.)
Sunday - I tackled the basement. We had gotten a few inches of water in the past few rainstorms, and our basement flooded. I didn't
think my stuff got wet or damaged but some did. There was a box of old notebooks and papers from old jobs (nothing that important) that I was holding on to. Lots of outdated things. I can't shred them bc they are soaked. But the good news is, if you try to ready anything it rips and crumbles and is all stuck together so you can't get any info out of it anyway. An entire hanging folder - glued shut by water. ICK. It was slimy and gross. Also - there was a box with CD's in it. Ok, not too bad right? Wrong. The cases and books of the CDs were SOAKED. maybe 5 were ok. I took out the CD's and threw out the books. I spent a good hour drying them off, and then my kitchen smelled like gross dirty water. I have lots to drag to the curb on trash day! Also - today I finally picked up my bike from my old garage, and since the back tire was flat - I went to the gym to get in some training for the upcoming MS bike.

Cheese or a doily?
This was underneath a bowl of French Onion Soup. A friend of mine (J.O.) ate a portion of it (you can see where it is missing on the right) before realizing it wasn't cheese! It's paper!
NY
I've spent a bunch of time in NY for work lately, shooting food footage for TV spots. It's way more fun to be in the studio than in an office, but we have really really long days. (12-14 hours) Mostly, we sit in the client area w/ couches on our computers doing work while shots are being set up, or while food is being prepared. Then we watch via monitor, or in the actual studio to make sure the shots are right.
Unfortunately for my waistline, there is a plethora of food available ALL DAY LONG. In the morning, a woman is there to make breakfast, and has a spread of fruit, pancakes, etc out. Then it moves to snack foods - crackers, chips, dips, candy. Then, lunch. Then back to snack foods. Apparently I love dried edamame and chocolate covered almonds.
Sometimes we attempt to go out to dinner, or out for a drink one night. Last time we were there, we saw actor Peter Dinklage (from the movies Elf, Death at a Funeral, and Penelope) at the Standard Hotel Biergarten. And, when we were there around my bday - we ended up at Hogs and Heifers which is similar to Coyote Ugly. It was a bit amusing, but mostly kind of trashy and annoying to have bartenders yelling @ you with megaphones!

slacker
Yes, I know, I said I would blog more and totally failed. But I feel that a lot of people who read my blog read my sister's blog too, and some stuff recently would get redundant. Also - by the time I get home, I haven't felt like turning on my computer bc I've been on one allllll day long, and all the pictures I should be posting up here are on there. Sad times. I know.
I'll try harder.
